Item Driver Training(University of Zilina, 2018) Rievaj, Vladimír; Gaňa, Ján; Figlus, TomaszRoad transport has become a very important part of supply chain management. The large number of vehicles in op-eration requests large number of qualified person to operate them. The lack of young person interested in this job and obstacles in the training and qualification process result in current labour market state when large number of person are missing.Item The Impact of Using Trailers on the Fuel Consumption(University of Zilina, 2018) Synák, František; Rievaj, Vladimír; Semanová, Štefánia; Palúch, JánThe amount of fuel consumed may also be influenced by driving style, speed as well as by the need for the use of passenger car trailers. This paper deals with the impact of using such trailers on the amount of fuel consumed. Measurement of the impact of the passenger car trailer on fuel consumption was carried out during driving at constant speed and during acceleration. The measurements were performed by driving test on a flat road. The first part of the paper deals with the driving resistances which influence fuel consumption during driving at constant speed and during acceleration on the flat road. The second part describes the vehicle used for measurements and measuring equipment. The conclusion of the paper includes the principles to reduce the impact of passenger car trailers on the amount of fuel consumed.Item The impact of roof box on fuel consumption(University of Zilina, 2017) Synák, František; Rievaj, VladimírPassenger vehicles are major petroleum consumers and contributors of greenhouse gas and criteria pollutant emissions in many countries around the world. The amount of fuel consumed affects the environment, status of health of human population as well as financial costs that are associated with vehicle operation. The roof box is one of the often used vehicle attachments. The aim of the paper is to measure the increase of fuel consumption affected by an installed roof box. The impact of roof box on the increase of fuel consumption is measured at the speeds of 50 km.h-1, 90 km.h-1 and 130 km.h-1. The introduction of the paper describes particular harmful constituents of exhaust gases and their effects. Another part of the article includes the methodology of measurement and its results. The last part of the article involves the evaluation of results and recommendations relating to reduction of the increase of fuel consumption affected by roof box.Item Temperature of the brakes and the Braking Force(University of Zilina, 2017) Rievaj, Vladimír; Mokričková, Lenka; Synák, FrantišekThe kinetic energy of the braking vehicle is changed into heat and the resulting heat increases the temperature of each part of brakes. The changed temperature affects the coefficient of friction between the brake lining and brake drum of brake disc. Unless the brakes are actuated hydraulically there is the warning brake pads and brake fluid. Object of examination in this article is the impact of repetitive braking to change of these parameters and the impact of time to change the boiling point of the brake fluid.Item Measurement of Impact of Air Filter Cleanness on a Change of Engine Speed Characteristics(University of Zilina, 2017) Synák, František; Rievaj, VladimírThe paper is focused on the impact of clogged air filter on a change of speed characteristics of spark-ignition engine 1.4 MPI, 16V, 74 kW. The clogged air filter can cause deterioration in engine charging. Less air means the possibility of burning smaller amount of fuel, and thus less energy brought to the engine. This should cause a change in the size of engine torque and its power.Item Benefits of Autonomously Driven Vehicles(University of Zilina, 2016) Rievaj, Vladimír; Mokričková, Lenka; Synák, FrantišekThe vehicles with high grades have the embedded systems which are essential for the operation of a vehicle with higher standard of safety. This way road transport can significantly closer to the safety of rail and air transport because the error of driver is the main cause of the accident. The expected benefits of autonomous vehicles are their ability to observe small distances between the vehicles. Based on the information from stationary sources and vehicles running near adjust their route and speed of travel so as to minimize delays in congestions. This ensures greater continuity of driving, reducing consumption of vehicles and therefore the production of greenhouse gases from road transport. If the vehicles are capable of autonomous driving is achieved higher average speed and they have been removed the mandatory brakes within driving. It achieves the higher performance of individual vehicles and thus fewer number of vehicles on the roads and less traffic congestion.Item 160 km/h on the Highway(University of Zilina, 2016) Rievaj, Vladimír; Mokričková, LenkaThe speed limit on the highways of Slovak Republic is 130 km/h. It is recently considered the increase of this speed on some sections to the 1600 km/h. However this increase brings with it a substantial negative impacts. On the basis of its evaluation appears to increase this speed to 160 km/h as inappropriate
