Item Identifikácia rušenia GNSS signálu na letiskách(University of Žilina, 2024) Paraska, Michal; Novák, AndrejIn this thesis, the interference of GNSS signals at airports was studied, identifying the main types of interference and their sources. Through a thorough analysis and reevaluation of experimental setups, effective detection methods and mitigation strategies were established. The findings emphasize the significant impact of interference on safety and operational efficiency in aviation. It is recommended to enhance signal integrity with advanced monitoring systems and to work with aviation regulatory authorities to update existing frameworks, ensuring reliable GNSS functionality in an increasingly congested environment.Item Detekcia rušenia signálu GNSS na letiskách(University of Žilina, 2023) Velčický, Ján; Novák, AndrejAlthough the Global Navigation Satellite System provides an increased precision in instrument approaches, it is vulnerable to various signal interferences causing either decreased position accuracy or a complete loss of GNSS signal reception. One of the major threats to a GNSS receiver is the intentional interference known as jamming. Incoming airplanes can be seriously endangered by such signal loss. This bachelor’s thesis addresses the detection and classification of possible unintentional and intentional interference and spoofing attacks on airplanes in proximity to the airdrome Žilina. Besides that, other systems which show sufficient reliability are compared. Additionally, critical parts of RNP approach chart map are evaluated. Finally, a device called HackRF ONE is selected to be put in aerodrome proximity for detection of possible GNSS interference. Using this software defined radio as unmanned aerial vehicle alarm and protection system is another suggested possibility.Item Analysis of satellite navigation systems usable in general aviation(University of Zilina, 2022) Gahír, Jakub; Novák, AndrejThis paper is mainly focused on solving the current issues of satellite navigation systems and subsequent analysis. The paper is systematically divided, while the first chapter focuses mainly on the definition of satellite navigation systems, their use in general aviation and introduction of specific examples, their division in terms of operation and a description of advanced satellite navigation systems. The second chapter deals with the methodology of work, analyzes the sources and the chosen procedure for solving and researching the issue. The third chapter is the main one and is focused on the analysis and research of satellite navigation systems, defining input parameters such as: accuracy, continuity, or integrity of navigation services. It also compares research with the current state of the issue and evaluates analyses, suggests possible changes and directions of further research in satellite navigation industry.Item Analysis of the earth's surface influence on the accuracy of non directional beacon in mountain terrain(University of Zilina, 2021) Novák, Andrej; Novák Sedláčková, Alena; Lusiak, Tomasz; Stelmach, AnnaThis paper deals with the measuring and checking of the Non Directional Beacon using flying laboratory AeroLab 1 at University of Zilina. It is based on the most simple radio navigation concept: a ground-based radio transmitter (the NDB) sends an omnidirectional signal that an aircraft loop antenna receives. Our practical measurement shows that the NDB satisfies ICAO standards and can be used in industrial part of urban area and is functional in spite of the interference. The paper concentrates on the measuring of the Non Directional Beacon (NDB) which is installed close to industrial part of the city. The ADF/NDB navigation system is one of the oldest air navigation system still in use today. One of the paper's goals is to familiarize the aviation public with the practical measurement of this urban area phenomenon in terms of flight safety, which is common in mountainous nations such as Slovakia. The article's other purpose is to educate professionals in the area about this occurrence in terms of its nature as a physical rule, in order to develop solutions to improve the navigation system's measurement accuracy.Item Methodical manual for flight according to PBN(University of Zilina, 2021) Novák, Andrej; Jůn, FrantišekWork dealing with the professional topic of PBN issues and its use within the University of Žilina in Žilina. The division of the work is 4 content units, each of which describes a different area of the issue. In the first chapter, the author analyzes certified navigation devices and their functionality within the PBN concept. The chapter describes the basic radio navigation equipment, which we include in the concept of PBN, namely VOR, DME, but also satellite navigation systems GNSS, ABAS, GBAS, SBAS. And in summary, use of these systems in the PBN concept. The next chapter describes the theoretical knowledge that a student should have in flight according to PBN. It describes the theoretical background that a pilot needs to perform such a flight. Every pilot who starts practical flying should have studied the facts given in this chapter. In the third chapter, the reader will learn about the differences between flying a real aircraft and between simulator flying during PBN training. It describes the execution of the flight according to PBN, which is helpful before starting the simulator training. The simulator is an important part of the training and should therefore be given the same level of attention. The last part of this work summarizes the facts from the previous chapters and uses this knowledge in their implementation in flight procedures. When reading this chapter, it is necessary to use your knowledge of practical training. The aim of this work is to create a framework for the future methodological manual for PBN training. The main goal of this work is to bring the issue closer to the reader, to acquaint him with the issue of PBN flying.Item Analysis of implementation instrument approaches for hems heliports(University of Zilina, 2021) Posluch, Samuel; Pecho, PavolIn recent years, the trend of using a helicopters in the operation of the helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) has been increasing. The reason is the wide range of uses of the helicopter, fast and safe transport of wounded people using new copters. Nevertheless, it is not possible to operate flights in poor weather conditions with a sufficient number of interventions. There is a need to develop new procedures for flying even under conditions other than VFR flight rules. The current state of helicopter technology in Slovakia allows it and therefore it is appropriate that new procedures using GNSS be created to establish a safe flight. The aim of the analysis is to evaluate the input factors available to the operator and to create a design approach based on the legislative requirements for the use of GNSS systems on the selected heliport. The resulting approach design can be used as one of the options for creating procedures. Such proposals could also be implemented on other operational bases, for the creation of a network of instrument approach or departure systems, which would create space for increasing the safety of helicopter emergency medical service in Slovakia.Item ANALÝZA RUŠENIA SIGNÁLU GNSS NA LETISKU POPRAD- TATRY(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Novák, Andrej; Novák Sedláčková, Alena; Stelmach, AnnaThe paper is focused on the GNSS signal interference during the airport approach procedures at small Slovak regional airport Poprad-Tatry. The paper analyzes the simulation of the situation during the identification and monitoring of GNSS signal interference by ground station situated at the airport. Nowadays is still important to develop air transport and increasing the safety and continuity of provided services even at small regional airports. One of the most appropriate possibilities is to use at this kind of airports with insufficiently equipped navigation infrastructure the GNSS approach. The monitoring of reliability of this system and implementation of monitoring the GNSS signal interference in the final phase of the instrument approach will increase the safety of the flight.
